Artist owned and inspired
Creative Hub in St. Pete
Atelier de SoSi translates to artist workshop on the south side.
Originally founded in 2014, Atelier de SoSi is a hub of creative expression. Our warehouse, originally a space for metal and wood work, is now home to an art gallery, studio spaces, scrap yard, event space and more. In 2020, owner Bruce Allums worked to create individual artist studios and bring the location to life.
Our Vision
Our vision is to have artists of all mediums, such as metal, wood, glass, and paint, all come together. We envision them collaborating to make one mega-piece or to contribute towards a common themed exhibit.
“I’ve always wanted to express myself through art and building things,” says Allums. He was inspired to create this artist haven because of his own artistic prowess. Each piece of metal, wood, and stone furniture in the space was created by Allums.
Atelier de SoSi features artist exhibits, pop-up events, and private events.
Our Story
Owner and lifelong creative, Bruce Allums, envisions Atelier de SoSi as an artistic haven for artists in St. Petersburg, FL. Originally founded in 2014, Atelier was a slow start and has evolved over the years. In 2020, Bruce focused on building individual studios and bringing the gallery to life.
Bruce has been creating and building his entire life, from renovating multiple family homes, building tables, and playground sets to designing local restaurants.
Bruce’s art is functional, rustic, and industrial, featuring metal, wood, and concrete elements. His recent projects include building and designing Banyan restaurants with his wife, Erica. He also built the interior of Bayboro Brewing. He focuses on creating long standing pieces, built to last.
Bruce’s favorite piece currently in Atelier de SoSi is his metal and wood living room set. It was one of the first collections he created.
